Tatenda is a Co-founder and CEO of ImaliPay, a fast-growing VC-backed Embedded Finance/ Banking as a Service API platform formed in 2020 to provide financial services infrastructure for Africa’s growing economies. Tatenda has a deep understanding of the embedded finance landscape in Africa, having previously worked as Chief of Staff to the Co-founder and CEO of Cellulant, a leading digital payments company operating across 18 African countries.

In his role at ImaliPay, Tatenda is responsible for leading the company’s strategy and innovation and go-to-market strategy. He is also a passionate advocate for the use of technology to empower African entrepreneurs and businesses. Tatenda is a prestigious Chevening Scholar and holds a Master’s degree in Business and Management from the University of Nottingham. He is also a graduate of Bradley University in the United States, where he studied International Business. He now serves as the External Advisory Board of the Global Studies Program.

Tatenda’s ambition is to build ImaliPay into a leading provider of embedded finance solutions in Africa and Globally. He believes that embedded finance has the potential to transform the way financial services are delivered to African consumers and businesses, and he is committed to making this a reality.
